Where adequate legislation does not exist, we will adopt and apply standards that reflect the Company's commitment to this policy.

Meridian Minerals commits itself to:

• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and maintain constant awareness of new and changing regulations, whilst providing adequate training, information and instruction on workplace health, safety and hazards to all employees
• Integrate safety factors into planning processes and operational decisions
• Arrange, provide and maintain safe systems of work without risk to the health of employees
• Provide adequate and proper facilities, equipment and safety apparel and ensure its correct use as is necessary to ensure the health and safety of employees at work
• Ensure that employees, contractors and visitors are informed of and understand their obligations in respect of this policy
• Monitor the effectiveness of safety procedures to ensure that safety is enhanced where possible
• Encourage openness and transparency in the reporting of safety incidents
• Ensure that all incidents are thoroughly investigated to eliminate or reduce any future occurrences
