Movement on the Station!
The past week I have been onsite on the Lennard Shelf Project as we prepare to commence a major drill program in order to infill drill Kapok West and look to grow the Kapok West mineral resource. This drill program will be over 20,000m of drilling which is a fairly significant undertaking and therefore we need to have the right infrastructure in place to handle this amount of drill core. We have been able to re-occupy the mess building on site at Cadjebut, which is just a couple of km’s from where the majority of our drilling will be done at Kapok and Kapok-West. Our field crew is doing a great job in converting the mess building in to a field office and cleaning up the Cadjebut core shed which will be where we will process and sample all the diamond drill core from Kapok and Kapok-West. Fairly soon we will be able to accommodate about 12-15 people on site which will be the size of the team needed to run and support our drill program. The Cadjebut Field Office is in a lovely location perched on a small rise looking out over the Kimberly region with long views to the south. There is nothing better than watching a Kimberly sunset and the stars coming out.
On Friday we held meetings with the Shire Council in Derby, Kimberly Land Council and Carol Martin (MLA) in Broome. While Meridian is 12 months away from making a production decision on the Lennard Shelf Project we wanted to introduce ourselves to key stakeholders and to outline the timeframe for the project. We were very well received at all meetings and overall the feeling was very positive about the process to recommence mining on the Lennard Shelf Project.
Over the next few weeks our preparations for the drill program will continue and we are all looking forward to the time when the drills start turning.
Cheers
