Board of Directors and Executives

Chairman – Ray Miller B.Comm, FAICD, FCPA
Ray Miller has had over 25 years experience as an executive in the resources industry in both public and private company roles. He has diverse international and domestic experience with a proven track record in executive management, directorships and operational experience in finance, strategy and project development and their implementations, risk management and corporate governance.
Mr Miller formerly held a number of executive positions including Chief Financial Officer with MIM Holdings, Vice President Finance BHP Minerals-Steel making and Energy Materials Group. In conjunction with other senior ex-MIM executives, Mr Miller assisted in the setting up of Gallipoli Mining Pty Ltd, a private company whose goal is to identify strategic investment opportunities for its major shareholder Nippon Mining and Metals of Japan. In addition, Mr Miller has held a number of Directorships on International advisory Boards.
Mr Miller is currently Chairman of Qmastor Limited, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Society of CPA’s.

Managing Director - Jeremy Read BSc (Hons), MAusIMM
Jeremy Read has 20 years domestic and international minerals exploration experience and was previously the Manager of BHP’s Australian Exploration Team. He has extensive exploration experience for nickel sulphides and played a critical role in the discovery of Kabanga North Nickel Deposit, in Tanzania (>10Mt @ 2.5%Ni). He is skilled in developing new technical teams, management of technical/specialist service groups, project generation activities, risk management and multi-commodity mineral exploration. During his employment with BHP, Mr Read developed several significant strategic exploration alliances with companies such as Teck Cominco and Falconbridge.
Mr Read was the founding Managing Director of Discovery Metals Limited and was instrumental in building Discovery’s project portfolio. He was responsible for Discovery applying for the Boseto (Maun Copper) Project (current Inferred Mineral Resources 46.1Mt @ 1.4% Cu) and for leading Discovery’s technical team through to the commencement of a pre-feasibility study on the Maun Copper Project. Mr Read was also responsible for all Discovery’s fund raising activities and for listing Discovery on the Australian Securities Exchange, Botswana Stock Exchange and the Alternative Investment Market in London. Mr Read is currently a Director of Discovery Metals Limited.

Director – Morrice Cordiner LLB,ASIA
Morrice Cordiner is a corporate lawyer by training and has over 15 years experience in the finance and resources industries. He is a founding Director of emerging gold company, Andean Resources Limited, the owner of the Cerro Negro gold project in Argentina. In addition, Mr Cordiner is also a founding Director of Discovery Metals Limited, which currently is conducting a pre feasibility study of the Maun Copper project in Botswana.
Over the last 5 years Mr Cordiner has been involved in the successful development and financing of a number of junior listed resource companies with projects in gold, nickel, copper and zinc. He has been involved in raising funds for these ventures on the Australian Securities Exchange, the London AIM market and The Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr Cordiner is currently a non-executive Director of Discovery Metals Ltd and an executive director of Andean Resources.

Director – Michael Howard B.Eng (Mining) (Hons)
Michael Howard has over 30 years experience in the mining industry, having worked in various capacities with BHP and related companies from 1973 through to 2000 (including Manager – OK Tedi Liaison, and General Manager of a mine and a smelter complex).
More recently, Mr Howard has been involved in mineral exploration and project evaluation from Greenfields projects through to mature operations in a number of commodities. Mr Howard also has experience in the development, financing and managing of projects for entities such as ASX listed, Midwest Corporation Limited, holding the position of COO of Midwest between 2004 and 2006.
Mr Howard is currently involved in consultancy work and provides advice to a range of companies on project reviews and developments.

Director – Paul Niardone, BA. MBA
Paul Niardone is the Executive Director for Professional Public Relations (WA) and is experienced in marketing, investor relations and strategic planning for clients in both government and the private sector.
Mr Niardone began his career in the Department of Cabinet and Parliamentary Services and has held management positions with the Peel Region Business Enterprise Centre, the Department of Commerce and Trade and Westpac Bank before starting Professional Public Relations (WA). Mr Niardone has co-authored and produced a publication "A Guide To Buying A Business" which is currently still being sold. He lectures at universities and currently sits on the Murdoch University Business School Board and conducts in-house corporate planning and marketing sessions. Mr Niardone is also a director of the Small Business Development Corporation in WA.
Mr Niardone has sat on the boards of a number of public and private companies and not-for-profit organisations. He is also a member of the Australian Marketing Institute, Institute of Management Consultants and the Institute of Company Directors. Mr Niardone previously sat as Chairman of Bellevue Resources until the company acquired Meridian Minerals and he remained on the Board as a Director.

Company Secretary – Ros Shand BA, LLB, FCIS
Roslynn Shand has a combined degree in Arts/Law from the University of Queensland, is a fellow of the Chartered Secretaries Australia and has considerable experience in the company secretarial area. She has been a company secretary for over 15 years for entities in the financial, agricultural and mining sectors.
Senior Management

Exploration Manager – Dr Quinton Hills B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., AusIMM
Dr Quinton Hills is an experienced mineral exploration industry professional, most recently leading the exploration team which has identified over 45 million tonnes at 1.3% copper at Discovery Metals Limited’s Copper Project in northwest Botswana. He has also worked as a geological consultant for Teck Cominco, Copperstrike, Aditya Birla, Strategic Minerals and Intrepid Geophysics. His recent work has involved commodity styles such as intrusion-related, epithermal and mesothermal gold deposits, syn-depositional to syn-orogenic copper, strataform zinc-lead-silver mineralisation (Broken Hill type and SEDEX) and magmatic nickel and copper mineralisation.
Dr Hills has planned and managed exploration programs throughout eastern Australia and Botswana. Dr Hills completed a Ph.D. studying the deformational and metamorphic history of the Georgetown Inlet in northern Queensland. As a part of his Ph.D study, Dr Hills compared the tectonic evolution of the Georgetown Inlet with the highly mineralised terranes of Mt. Isa and Broken Hill.
